This document is one of several left by an unnamed botanist. It can be located at The Manor Farm. In it, the botanist references an ancient idol that he had located while doing some landscaping. He took the idol the an "old hermit" (the Collector) in The Holm Oak Thicket. The Collector advised the botanist that the idols were part of a burial ritual and represented a spirit animal that would guide the soul of the deceased into the afterlife.
The document also makes mention of coins buried with the dead to pay the toll to Charon for safe passage through Hades. Though the botanist notes that this is common knowledge, the mythological Charon did not ferry souls through Hades.
An example of this burial ritual can be located in The Manor Farm and is part of the quest Manor Farm Murders.
