Status effects
From dieyoung
Status effects are both beneficial and detrimental effects that can be applied to and by Daphne either intentionally or as a result of the game environment. Some of the status effects are unnamed in-game, such as the stamina reduction from running by wearing the shoes. Others, such as heat stroke, are applied by forgoing water for an extended period of time, which also causes the dehydration status effect. Some effects are a combination of effects that may be inflicted separately, but have not been implemented as such in the game.
List of Status Effects[edit | edit source]
Status Effect | Type | Duration | Cause | Removal | Effects |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Venom | Detrimental | Unknown | Viper Bite | Lymphatic Compression | Combination of poison effect and bleeding effect. |
Bleeding | Detrimental | Unknown | Viper Bite | None (Bandage) | Daphne will slowly lose health over time until she has only a fraction of her overall health remaining. She will not die from this debuff. The bandage can be used to slow the bleeding effect. Healing items work as normal. |
Poison | Detrimental | Unknown | Viper Bite | None | The only known result of this debuff is visual, causing blue pulsing vein-like effects in the corners and edges of the screen. Since this is currently contracted only from the viper bite, a false impression is given that it causes health loss as well. This cannot, at this point, be confirmed. |
Heat Stroke | Detrimental | Indefinite | Lack of Water | Hydrating items | Heat stroke is the result of excessive dehydration. This debuff is inappropriately named, as heat stroke is a medical emergency and can result in death. The effect applied in game more closely resembles heat exhaustion. While also dangerous, heat exhaustion can be alleviated with fluids, rest and cooling the body's core temperature. Heat stroke requires emergency medical attention to prevent death or permanent injury. It is possible to maintain this effect for extended periods of time by deliberately keeping Daphne's hydration low. |
Dehydration | Detrimental | Indefinite | Lack of Water | Hydrating Items | Dehydration is simply a result of not being adequately hydrated. When dehydrated, droplets of water appear in the corners and edges of the screen. Daphne's vision will eventually be affected. Since this results from lack of fluids, consuming fluids or hydrating items will remove this effect if consumed in large enough quantities. Drinking water is the quickest way to remove this debuff. It is possible to maintain this effect for extended periods of time by deliberately keeping Daphne's hydration low. Using the Soccer Team Hat reduces the dehydration rate. |
Heal Over Time | Beneficial | 2 minutes | Restorative Tonic | N/A | The restorative tonic is currently the only in-game item that bestows this effect. The tonic restores an approximate 60% of Dahpne's health over a period of approximately two minutes. |
